Issue 59 ~ February 2008 Representing Jesus ChristRoad Rage
A man was being tailgated by
a stressed out woman on a busy boulevard.
My Aunt sent along this story and while it is slightly humorous - it is also very convicting.
Christ's Representatives
We as Christians - by very name - are Christ's representatives in the post modern world. How are we doing?
My Belief Is: I believe I am conducting my affairs in a manner that is glorifying to my Lord.
The Fact Is: I am not the one to judge my performance.
This is where the rubber meets the road. This is how we 'walk the walk' as we run the race that has been set before us.
It's not easy ~ is it? Of course not. There are:
- bosses & coworkers to contend with - rude people to deal with - bad drivers & traffic in our travels
and a multitude of other stimuli to process throughout each and every waking hour of our day to day living. Any one of which could tempt us to react in a way that diminishes the work that has been done in our lives by the One who gave His life for us.
The matter at hand here is getting beyond the din of daily living and finding respite in the calming presence of our Lord. Asking Him to help us by revealing those things in our lives that are displeasing to Him. Then, being honest with ourselves and with our Father ~ asking Him to forgive us our shortcomings and to give us wisdom to better represent Jesus Christ in the future.
Ask God to Search Your Heart: Search me, O God, and know
my heart; In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. Ephesians 1:7
Ask for Wisdom: If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5
Then Continue Your Walk
Let your light so shine
before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father
in heaven. Matt 5:16 And remember - we don't have it all figured out
Drive Carefully
You Lord are our provider - and you have given us much to be thankful for.
Help us Lord to honor both You and the manner is which You provide for us.
Philemon verse 4
May God Bless You and Keep You!
