Day
TOWN OF
ALFRED CLEAN-UP DAY
Tuesday, and Wednesday, Thursday
May 6, 7, 8 2008
The Town of Alfred will hold spring clean up day starting Tuesday
May 6, 2008 for TOWN OF ALFRED residents, outside the Village.
1. Items that are acceptable for disposal and special conditions for
municipal collection
A.
White Goods
B. Tires: limit 4 per household - $2.00 per tire
C. Scrap Metal: gas tanks must have holes so they cannot hold
liquids. Drums either crushed, ends cut out or full of holes.
D. Household Items: Furniture, carpeting, tools, toys, etc. are
acceptable. Any containers which held paint, cleaners,
chemicals, must be empty.
Items Prohibited for pickup:
A. Yard Waste – including brush, leaves, trees, etc.
B. Construction and Demolition Debris
C. Liquids or Hazardous waste of any kind. This includes waste
oil, antifreeze, solvents, paints, strippers and thinners, etc.
D. Car batteries
Residents should call the Town Clerk’s office for pickup – 587-8524.
If no one is in the office, please leave your name and address on
the answering machine.
July 26th, 2008 “From the Earth” Saturday,
July 26th, 11:00 am – 5:00 pm
An event involving flower gardens, tours of an organic
dairy farm, pottery and woodcarving studios, a perennial plant sale,
natural dye demonstrations, and even a short walk in the woods.
Many of us long to experience our connection to the land in
meaningful, healthy, and creative ways. From the Earth, to be held
in Alfred on Saturday, July 26th from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm, will
celebrate our collaboration with the natural world. From the Earth
will offer a variety of attractions, including flower gardens, tours
of an organic dairy farm, pottery and woodcarving, a perennial plant
sale, natural dye demonstrations, and even a short walk through the
